About the International Vodka Tastings

The International Vodka Tastings have been hosted each year by The Barely Standing Committee since 1991* — La Première Année. Each year five different vodkas are in competition which is fully blinded: none of the participants (and not even the hosts) knows which vodka is which. Vodkas are graded for clarity, bouquet, taste, finish, effect and “overall” as shown in the sample ballot below. (There is also an Out of Competition vodka each year which serves to demonstrate the process to new invitees.)
